Hermetica is a category of popular Late Antique literature purporting to contain secret wisdom.
Most of the texts are presented in the form of a dialogue, a favorite form for didactic material in Antiquity . The subject-matter of Hermetic books is wide-ranging. Some deal with alchemy , magic , and related concepts, and generally attributed to Hermes Trismegistus.
