The visiting writer Dick Hebdige is an expatriate British media theorist and sociologist, most commonly associated with the study of subcultures, and its resistance against the mainstream of society. Punk movement, music and identity were the main theme in his lectures; becoming animal,un-imagining utopia: Framing the Sixties, The X Syndrome: Vertigo and Autobiography were held at the University of Houston.
